Look after me

  • Natural bloom (a white, powdery film) may form on beeswax. This is not a detect, it is a sign of pure, unadulterated beeswax.

  • Trim wick to 1/4 inch before each lighting to prevent smoking or flickering.

  • On first burn, allow wax pool to reach the jar's edge (about 1 hour per inch of diameter) to prevent tunnelling.

  • Burn in 1-3 hour sessions. Aviod exceeding 4 hours.

  • Extinguish with the snuffer or soft blow to avoid hot wax splatter.

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent excess bloom or warping.

  • To clean up spilled beeswax, use warm soapy water or place a paper towel over the spot and warm with a hair dryer or iron (low heat).

Keep it safe

  • Burn only within sight: an unattended candle may tip over or ignite nearby items unnoticed.

  • Keep away from children, pets, curtains, paper and furniture: these common fire hazards can easily catch flame.

  • Light away from fans, windows and doorways: darts cause uneven burning, smoking, or blow debris into the flame.

  • Keep wax pool free of matches, wick trimmings or debris: foreign objects can overheat, catch fire, or cause wax to splatter.

  • Stop burning with 1/2 inch wax remaining to prevent container overheating: too little wax can overheat the container or surface, risking fire or cracking.

  • Never use water to extinguish, wax may splatter: water makes hot wax splatter violently and may crack glass containers.

  • Do not move candle while hot or lit:  spilled hot wax can burn skin or ignite surrounding materials.
